The Jean Monnet EU Centre of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and the Korean Society of Contemporary European Studies (KSCES) held their spring conference on April 12 at Gachon University＇s Vision Tower on Friday afternoon.

The session at the Jean Monnet Centre was held on the topic of Securing Resilience of GVC and Reorientation of Industrial Work, and Dr. Kim Kye-hwan of the Korea Institute for Industrial Research gave presentations on the de-risking policy of supply chains and the response of the Korean industry due to the US-China rivalry, and Dr. Oh Tae-hyun of the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy gave presentations on the EU Economic Security Strategy and Follow-up Measures: Main Contents and Evaluation. In the session moderated by Professor Kang Yoo-duk of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Professor Kim Yeon-yeon of Chungbuk National University and Professor Bang Cheong-rok of Handong Global University were in charge of the discussion, and various perspectives on the response of Korea and the EU to the recent changes in the international situation were presented.

The session, moderated by Director Kim Si-hong, was the first attempt at a European studies conference in Korea on the theme of Europe and Korea: The Connection to Sports Culture, and it was able to gather valuable viewpoints that further research in this field is needed considering the importance of sports, especially football, in European society.
