On February 18, the Minister of Education and Deputy Prime Minister for Social Affairs Yoo Eun-hye visited the HUFS campus to check on the status of COVID-19 preparations. Deputy Prime Minister Yoo Eun-hye held discussions with HUFS President Kim In-chul, Chinese students, and other foreign students, checked on the status of HUFS preparations for COVID-19, and inspected the student buildings and dormitories.
For foreign students coming in from China during the peak season of February 25 to March 1, HUFS set up “Help Centers (to aid with adjustments)” at Incheon Airport and Kimpo Airport, which was aired on various media outlets such as KBS. In addition, HUFS sent out videos via email in Chinese and English with health guidelines about COVID-19 and opened separate living quarters instead of dormitories for 100 students who came from China, with a HUFS task force team working on the site to help students.
HUFS has set up an emergency task force with President Kim In-chul as the head to ensure the safety of students and members of HUFS.
