The HUFS student team Al-LovU received the Grand Prize at the 1st College Crew for Overseas Marketing Content Creation held by Korea International Trade Association (KITA). The team included An Ji-Min, Gwon Seo-Young and Kim Chae-Yeon of the Department of Arabic Interpretation and Translation and the Middle East and Islam Strategies Module, HUFS Ingenium College of Convergence Studies (ICOCS, Dean Choi Jin-Young).
Last January, HUFS ICOCS signed an MOU with KITA on industry-academia cooperation to create overseas marketing content for the nation’s small and medium-sized businesses. The 1st College Crew for Overseas Marketing Content Creation was held in the form of a contest for college students in order to attract and develop young talented content creators and support businesses’ overseas marketing efforts.
The contest was participated in by 11 college teams from HUFS ICOCS, Konkuk University Department of Digital Culture and Contents and Inha University Department of Cultural Contents and Management. The college teams went through rounds of intense competition for three months from February to May. During the three-month period, each team was requested to create three overseas marketing video clips in total, one per month. After assessing the video submissions, KITA awarded the Grand Prize to HUFS team Al-LovU.
Team Al-LovU created promotional video clips for a hand sanitizer product, a Korean language textbook and a toothbrush sterilizer product. In particular, for the video content promoting publishing house Darakwon’s Korean language grammar book, the team received much praise for adding fun elements, including various situational scenarios that a foreigner may encounter while learning the Korean language and building their language skills from the beginner to intermediate and advanced level.
