On November 10, 2022 (Thursday), student Song Min-Seo (Italy·EU Strategy Module, entry class of ’22) of HUFS Ingenium College of Convergence Studies (ICOCS, Dean Choi Jin-Young) won KIMAF 2022: Peace Building and Sustainable Prosperity in the speech category. She won the honor with her speech on the current status of the Russia-Ukraine War and the role of international organizations.
Held by Kyung Hee University’s Model United Nations Secretariat, KIMAF 2022 was one of its largest-scale academic events for the second half of the year. The event is held to help young Koreans fulfill their potential as Youth Peacebuilders by raising awareness on the importance of peace building and sustainable prosperity in the 21st century. This year’s event, in particular, commemorated the International Day of Peace, which fell on September 21, 2022, and encouraged the participants to contribute to its theme "End Racism and Build Peace."
Student Song Min-Seo said in her comments, "What I wanted to stress was to remember that the law does not protect those who are complacent about their rights, and that peace is not guaranteed to those who take it for granted. I will continue to work hard for Korea University Model United Nations (KMUN) 2023 as I was recently selected as a member of the Committee of KMUN 2023."
