Celebrating the 17th Week of the Italian Language in the World, HUFS College of Occidental Languages organized, and took part in, various events and activities.
On October 18, 2017, the opening ceremony of the 9th Italian Film Festival was held at Monaco Space in Gangnam District at 19:00. The ceremony was attended by Ambassador of Italy to South Korea, film directors from Italy, Korean film industry personnel, and the faculty and students of College of Occidental Languages. At the ceremony, Jung Ran-gi, a lecturer at the Department of Italian Language, received Stella d'Italia from the Italian government for her contribution to the promotion of Italian language in the nation.
On the 23rd, South Korean researchers in Italian studies and HUFS students from the Department of Italian Language were invited to a reception at the official residence of the Italian Ambassador.
On the 24th, HUFS invited Italian author Roberto Pazzi, who has been named as a possible nominee for the Nobel Prize in Literature, to a seminar. The seminar was attended by some 80 participants, including Ambassador of Italy to Korea and HUFS faculty and students.
