■ HUFS ranked 5th in Arts & Humanities in Korea
HUFS has demonstrated a steady rise in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2018. On March 1, 2018, higher education data specialist QS released its university rankings in 46 subjects. In the rankings, HUFS ranked in the world's top 200 in four subjects.
HUFS, much recognized for its arts and humanities programs, remained in the top 200 in three related subjects among universities worldwide. It climbed 18 places to reach 132nd in the global ranking (5th in Korea).
By subject, HUFS took 45th place globally and 3rd place domestically in Modern Languages. In Linguistics, it stayed in the 51st to 100th range globally. In English Language & Literature, it ranked in the 101st to 150th range. In particular, its domestic rankings in the latter two subjects each went up a notch to the 3rd and 4th places, respectively.
In Social Sciences & Management, it showed remarkable gains, jumping 25 spots to 343rd place globally (10th domestically). In the subject of Politics & International Studies, it ranked in the 151st to 200th range (7th domestically).
The QS rankings assess universities based on the four criteria of academic reputation, employer reputation, citations, and H-index. HUFS continues its steady rise not only in the QS rankings but also in domestic rankings, including the JoongAng Ilbo's University Rankings.
