President Park Chul of HUFS visited Azerbaijan from October 2, 2012 (Tuesday) through October 8 (Monday) to attend the multiculturalism session of the 'Baky' International Humanitarian Forum at the invitation of the Azerbaijan government.
The second Baky International Humanitarian Forum, co-hosted by the Azerbaijan and Russian governments, was attended by presidents from 11 countries, 15 Nobel laureates, and university presidents, scholars, and journalists from around the world to discuss literature, politics, the global economy, and society.
President Park Chul of HUFS visited Baku State University in Azerbaijan to sign an MOU on academic exchange on October 6.
The MOU was intended to facilitate academic and student exchange between the two universities. It calls for establishment of academic and student exchange between the Department of Korean of Baku State University and the Department of Turkish and Azerbaijani of HUFS. The MOU signing ceremony was covered by seven Turkish and Azerbaijani broadcasting agencies and attended by some 300 professors from Baku State University.
On Friday, October 5, President Park Chul of HUFS became the first Korean to ever visit the National Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy, to enter into an MOU on international exchange.
Established five years ago, the National Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy is based on the US educational system and conducts all courses in English. It was established to develop global leaders in Azerbaijan. In this MOU, the two schools agreed to carry out academic exchange programs to develop experts on Central Asia and the Caucasus region.
President Park Chul of HUFS visited Azerbaijan University of Languages on Saturday, October 6.
HUFS had signed an MOU on exchange with Azerbaijan University of Languages in 2007. He signed another MOU to renew the previous one and discussed the ways to expand the scope of exchange between the two schools. Each university sends two exchange students to the other every year.
