On October 6th 2022, students and faculty from the International Development major of HUFS GSIAS International Studies department held a panel at the KAIDEC "An integrated approach for inclusive international development cooperation in the post-pandemic" (포스트 판데믹 시대의 포용적 국제개발협력을 위한 통잡적 접근) Conference.
The panel, titled "Linking Research and Practice in Development: Disaster, climate change adaptation and community resilience", was supported by the Ministry of education and the National Research Foundation of Korea, and counted with presentations from both established and junior researchers from HUFS. The participants shared their queries and practies in linking research and practice in development projects in the fields of disaster risk management (DRM) and climate chance adaptation (CCA). By addressing researchers' challenges and queries in reviewing and examining DRM and/or CCA projects aiming at building and enhancing community disaster resilience, the participants highlighted the roles, contributions as well as limitations of communtiy participation.
