In February 2024, it has been one year since the devastating earthquakes struck Turkey and Syria. While Turkey's situation received widespread coverage and garnered significant public attention in South Korea, there has been limited awareness regarding the humanitarian challenges faced in northwest Syria. The purpose of this webinar is to illuminate the humanitarian crisis and the response efforts led by IOM and World Vision in northwest Syria. This region has been grappling with a decade-long conflict exacerbated by the aftermath of the 2023 earthquakes and persistent food shortages. Experts from both organizations will provide valuable insights during the webinar.

2023년에 발생한 튀르키예-시리아 지진은 15만 명 이상의 사망자를 낳았으며, 수십만 명이 인도적 위기에 처했습니다. 특히 시리아 북서부 지역은 10년 이상의 분쟁으로 인해 이미 피폐한 상황이었는데, 이번 지진으로 최악의 인도적 위기를 경험하고 있습니다. 그러나 튀르키예 상황과는 달리 시리아의 상황은 상대적 로 미흡하게 알려져 있어 우리의 관심 속에서 잊혀지고 있는 것 같습니다.
