Notice on restricted permission for offline classes
Dear Professors
Thank you for all of your efforts during this difficult time.
On April 27th, the university administration decided to continue online classes. However, offline classes will be allowed on a case-by-case basis for courses with less than 30 students from Mon, May 11th.
If your course meets this condition, please refer to the following requirements if you would like to run your course offline.
1. You need to register for offline classes in advance For classes with maximum 30 students which are considered to be better conducted offline, such as courses of experiment, practice, conversation and etc., offline classes can be restrictively allowed. Above all, a mutual agreement on having offline classes between the professor and the students is required and then, if there is a classroom with sufficient room to allow for social distancing, the professor can apply for an offline class. Please submit an application which you can find on a category of a list of subjects (the submenu of posting syllabus) at HUFS Portal by Fri, May 6th. The office will review the application and notify you of the result of your request. If a student doesn't attend the offline class due to safety concerns, please provide them with the class materials and consider their situation so as not to disadvantage their grade. If students are still abroad, please refer to the standards below. 2. For students still abroad Many students can't come to Korea due to several reasons such as limited airplane tickets, visa problems, and the two-week self-quarantine period. If there are students in this situation in your class, please refer to the following. 1/2 attendance can be approved for authorized absences. Please consider one of three: 1) Submit reports instead of attending the offline lectures 2) Provide audio/video recordings of the offline lectures; 3) conduct simultaneous online classes. Please evaluate their grades by online final exam or substitute reports.
3. Final exam period will be from Mon, 22th, June ~Fri, 26th, June. Please do the supplementary class from Mon, June 29th~ Fri, July 3rd if needed.
4. The university will try our best to ensure the safety of professors and students a tight quarantine system.
Thank you for your understanding.
