A reception was held at the Finnish Embassy's residence on July 10 (Wed) to mark Finnish Presidency of the European Council in the second half of 2019, and Si-hong Kim, a Jean Monnet Chair Professor, was present at the invitation of Finnish Ambassador to Korea, Eero Suominen. 

Ambassadors and diplomats from member states of the EU, including EU Ambassador Michael Leiterer, and Directors of Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence from Korea University (Prof. Sunghoon Park) and Yonsei University (Prof. Yeon-ho Lee) attended the reception.

Finland, as the presidency of the European Council for the next six months, is expected to focus on changing and creating various science and technology policies for innovation and investment in the fourth industry, including AI, machine learning and big data led by nine leading digital member states (D9 nations), in addition to crucial topics that were subject of discussion during previous presidency and will be discussed during Finland's term, like multiannual financial framework, Brexit, migration and EMU.
