Prof. Kim Si Hong, director of HUFS JMCE, attended the Kick-off meeting of the Jean Monnet program held in Brussels on November 18. Jean Monnet projects of 218 individuals and institutions from 45 countries began from the second half of 2019, and through the meeting the revised guidelines for the programs have been explained.

In addition, it was introduced the sectoral content of the policies of the newly inaugurated President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyer from December, and shared the future EU policy directions. A networking event was also arranged among Jean Monnet project managers from each country. 

Director Kim also visited the Korea-EU Research and Cooperation Centre (KERC) of the Korea Research Foundation in Brussels and had a meeting with Kim Myeon Joong, head of the centre. KERC is an organization that supports the establishment and analysis of policies in the science and technology sector and the activation of cooperation in the R&D sector between Korea and the EU.
