Inferential methods for the analysis of discrete data in R

  언어 변형을 분석하기 위한 일관되고 강력한 프레임 워크를 제공하는 GLMM (Generalized Linear Mixed-Effects Models)의 이론을 소개하고 실습해본다. 실제 연구에서 쓰인 자료를 활용하여 R 통계 패키지 모델을 사용하는 방법을 실습 한다.

1/15(화) The first day will serve as an introduction and will discuss linear models, which can be used to model continuous outcome variables. We will start with the classical model of linear regression with a single continuous predictor, and will see how we can generalize this approach to include more predictors, both continuous and discrete.

1/16(수) The second day will introduce generalized linear models for categorical data, with a particular emphasis on logistic regression, which is used to analyze binary data. We will then see how these models can be extended to include random effects build nested models (e.g. participants from different dialects) and crossed models (e.g. each participant produced each word in a word list).

1/17(목) The last day will focus on count data and will discuss two commonly used models for such data: Poisson regression, and negative binomial regression, a generalization of the Poisson model which allows to account for overdispersion, a phenomenon which is commonly encountered with count data.
