European Unity and Central & Eastern Europe - Between Centripetal & Centrifugal Forces – International Conference

International Conference “European Unity and Central & Eastern Europe - Between Centripetal & Centrifugal Forces” co-hosted by HUFS-HRI EU Centre, HUFS East European & Balkan Institute, The Korean Society of Contemporary European Studies and Asian Association of Central & Eastern European Studies was held at International Conference Hall of HUFS on November 8^th and November 9^th, 2013.

The event comprehensively covered broad area of topics concentrated around Croatia, the new EU member state from July 1^stand European Integration and the Central and Eastern Europe relations.  The conference was divided into 7 sessions and round-table discussion.  

During the conference speakers and participants examined the relationship between the European Union and Central and Eastern Europe within the opposed movement of ‘centrifugal and centripetal forces’ and to study the past, the present, and the future of bilateral relations between Korea and the European Union.
