Speaker: HE, Martin Uden, the United Kingdom’s Ambassador to Korea

 

HE, Martin Uden, the United Kingdom’s (UK) Ambassador to Korea gave a lecture ‘Global Korea’ at HUFS BRICs Hall on 14 April, invited by the HUFS-HRI EU Centre.

 Suggesting some conditions for Korea to become an influential member of the international community, he encouraged Korean university students to make an active effort. He also pointed out that Korea needs to take a leading role as a developed country, based on its fast economic development. In particular, he asked us to participate actively on global issues such as environmental problems and poverty in developing countries.

 After the lecture, he answered questions from the students about the politics, society and culture of the UK.  He encouraged the students to develop more positive and active thinking to further globalise Korea.
