This conference was hosted by HUFS-HRI EU Centre and sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Korea and the European Union. This conference dealt with the special issue of “Korea-EU Strategic Partnership and the Trust-Building Process on the Korean Peninsula”. The general aim of the conference was to bring together practitioners, experts, senior-level officials and scholars from Europe and Korea to encourage collaboration in ensuring security conditions on the Korean peninsula. It was an excellent opportunity to participate and discuss about one of the most salient global issues given the tense security situation in North-east Asia.

The conference is appeared on the Korea daily, the Korea Herald, putting emphasis upon possible solutions for ameliorating tension on the Korea Peninsula. In particular way, conference topic precisely matches with main policies with newly elected President Park Geun Hye and prominent figures such as Chairman of the National Assembly’s Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee and many others joined actively during the discussion sessions.
