Topic: Solutions to North Korea’s Famine Crisis

The Centre co-hosted 2012 Model European Council together with Yonsei-SERI, PNU and YU EU Centres. Originally Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Korea suggested this grand competition and also recommended the agenda of 2012 Model European Council. Agenda for this memorable meeting was ‘Solutions to the North Korea’s Famine Crisis.’ This topic emphasized the significant role of the European Union in resolving various issues in the Korean peninsula.

During the competition, students from 9 universities discussed and tried to figure out possible means throughout the Model European Council. Each Participant represented EU institutions and member states. By doing so, it was possible to set a stage for Korean Students to take a closer look at the role of the European Council and share their ideas on and perspectives of the EU member states.
