Admission Guide for Fall Semester 2013

◎ Eligibility

1) Master's Program

- Applicants having obtained (or expected to obtain) a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Korea or an overseas country

2) Doctoral Program

- Applicants having obtained (or expected to obtain) a Master's degree in related fields or its equivalent in Korea or an overseas country

◎ Documents required

1) Master's Program

① GSIAS application form for overseas applicants(click)

- must be submitted in printed versions and also be emailed to hufsgsias@hufs.ac.kr

② Bachelor's degree certificate and transcript (1 original version of each)

- must be officially translated* into Korean or English

* This means translation certified by a consular officer, licensed translator, or other official body.

③ Research proposal (form available on the second page of the application form)

④ Certificate of the Bank Deposit (if available)

- More than 10,000 US$ of yourself or family members

- Original certificate issued by a bank

2) Doctoral Program

① GSIAS application form for overseas applicants(click)

- must be submitted in printed versions and also be emailed to hufsgsias@hufs.ac.kr

② Master's degree certificate (1 original version)

-must be officially translated* into Korean or English

③ Transcripts of Undergraduate and Graduate Studies (1 original version of each)

- must be officially translated* into Korean or English

*This means translation certified by a consular officer, licensed translator, or other official body.

④ Research proposal (form available after online application)

⑤ Master's Thesis example

⑥ Certificate of the Bank Deposit (if available)

- More than 10,000 US$ of yourself or family members

- Original certificate issued by a bank

① Household Registers(戶口溥) or ID Card(居民身份证) of All Family Members

② Certificate of Degree with a Verification from the China Academic Degree & Graduate Education Development Center (http://www.cdgdc.edu.cn)

③ Certificate of Graduation with a Verification from the China Academic Degree & Graduate Education Development Center (http://www.cdgdc.edu.cn)

* For those who have not yet graduated from university: Education Background & Academic Records issued by the China Academic Degree & Graduate Education Development Center (http://www.cdgdc.edu.cn)

④ (Optional) Parents’ Certificate of Holding Office (工作证明书)

◎ Selection Process: Document Review & Interview

- The Interview will be conducted in English or applicants’ desired major languages.

◎ Instructions

- Applicants should fill in the application form online (for overseas applicants: please use the separate form provided) and send printed version to the Administrative Office of GSIAS (postal submission accepted).

- Original degree certificates and transcripts issued from overseas countries must be officially translated* into Korean or English. *This means translation certified by a consular officer, licensed translator, or other official body.

- Submission by mail should be registered and arrive by the due date.

- Submitted materials will not be returned.

- For overseas applicants

i) Please email your application form hufsgsias@hufs.ac.kr first and post your application package early enough to meet the deadline.

ii) If you are not able to attend the admission interview in person, please email hufsgsias@hufs.ac.kr to request for a phone interview, which can be allowed upon approval by each department.
