HUFS JMCE, led by the Director Si-hong Kim, held a special session during the 17th Jeju Forum 2022 for Peace and Prosperity. The session was held at ICC Jeju, Baek-reok Hall. The joint hosts were Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Korea.

The event, under the theme of "The Future of Korea-EU Strategic Cooperation: Regional Cooperation, Economic Security and Value Diplomacy," was presided by former EU Ambassador Chang-beom Kim. Presentations were also made by the Director Si-hong Kim and Sookmyung Women's University Professor Kyu-duk Hong, followed by a discussion by EU Ambassador Maria Castillo Fernandez, Dutch Ambassador Joana Donnerbart, and President of the European Chamber of Commerce Christoph Haider.

Moreover, Swiss Ambassador Dagma Schmidt Tartali, Latvian Ambassador Aris Bigantz, Professor Mason Richey from the Graduate School of International and Area Studies, and others examined President Yoon's diplomatic policies.The direction of sharing South Korea's vision of becoming a global pivot state and raising cooperation opportunities with Europe in the Indo-Pacific Region was also discussed, while illuminating the 60th anniversary of South Korea-EU diplomatic tie due in 2023.
