On December 16th, the HUFS JMCE(Director Kim Si-hong) and HUFS Institute of EU (Director Kim Bong-chul)co-hosted a Winter Academic Conference.

Maria Castillo Fernandez, Ambassador of the European Union to Korea, and Seo Bin, Deputy Director-General at the European Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, congratulated the conference in a speech at the opening ceremony and expressed hope that the events experienced by Europe and Korea in 2022 will have a developmental impact on the future between the international community and Korea.

Under the theme of "Korea-Europe Relations in the Transition Period, Achievements and Challenges" this conference this conference held a total of 8 sessions on detailed topics ranging from social sciences to humanities and environment/science fields. Presentations and discussions were held by scholars studying European studies and graduate students in the field.

Through the large-scale conference, which began at 10 a.m., from session presentations to round tables to general meetings of the Korean Society of Contemporary European Studies and dinners, experts were given a chance to discuss the recent crises facing Europe and to reaffirm the level of HUFS in building and operating the nation＇s best research/education infrastructure.
