The HUFS JMCE (led by Director Kim SiHong) held the 4th EU Certificate Course on May 11 (Thu) and 18 (Thu) in room 225 of the Main Building. 22 students from 9 universities and graduate schools participated in the 4th EU Certificate Course, which was tuns on two days.

The first day's lecture consisted of three rounds. First, Professor Kang YooDuk (Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, University of Michigan) gave a lecture under the theme of 'Changes in the Global Supply Chain and Korea-EU Trade Relations', along with EU policies related to the global value chain, and implications for Korea. In the second lecture, Professor Lee MooSung (Myongji University) talked about what kind of approach is possible in the partnership between Korea and the EU based on the EU's strategic partnership with the theme of 'Korea-EU Strategic Partnership'. Lastly, Researcher Shin EuiChan (Hankuk University of Foreign Studies) presented the geopolitical strategies of both sides and possible areas for cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region under the theme of ‘Korea’s Indo-Pacific Strategy and Cooperation with Europe’.

In the lecture on the second day, Professor Yoon Sungwon (University of Suwon) gave a lecture on the founding process of the European Union and its major organizations under the theme of ‘European Integration and Its History’. In the second lecture, Professor Chung SaeWon (Pukyong National University) presented the main implications and points of discussion of the Korea-EU digital partnership signed in 2022 under the theme of ‘Korea-EU Global Cooperation: Focusing on Digital Partnership’. Lastly, Professor Kim SiHong (Hankuk University of Foreign Studies) gave a lecture on ‘60 Years of Korea-EU Relations: Retrospect and Prospect’. He pointed out that Korea＇s foreign policy has made significant progress, and suggested new areas for cooperation in celebration of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Korea and the EU.

Students actively participated in Q&A session in each lecture and had the opportunity to learn in depth about various fields of Korea-EU relations. After the lecture, the certificates were issued.
