On 14 January (Mon), HUFS JMCE co-hosted a joint academic conference with the Jeju Peace Institute(JPI), on the topic of "Peace in the Korean Peninsula and the Role of the European Union" at the seminar room of the JPI.

At the Conference, President Bonghyun Kim, Dr. Intaek Han, Dr. Seong-Woo Yi, Dr. Jongyoon Doh and Dr. Jeeyoon Gi from JPI, as well as Director Sihong Kim, Deputy Director Bongchul Kim (Division of International Studies), Chair Professor Dukmin Yoon and Professor Kijoon Hong (Kyunghee University) with JMCE research assistants attended. Along with in-depth discussions on peace on the Korean Peninsula and North Korea's nuclear weapons, active discussions were held on the appication of peace-building measures through EU-Korea cooperation and Permanent Structured Cooperation(PESCO) of the EU.
