On November 12^th, the HUFS JMCE, Keimyung University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Economy co-hosted a seminar on the “Trade Issues in EU-East Asia Relations and Korea’s Response,” at the Korea Press Center. The seminar was moderated by Professor Lee Seung Geun (Keimyung Uni.) and Kim Han Won (Kyunghee Univ.). Presentations were given by Park Han Jin (KOTRA Academy) on “Strategic Confrontation and Progress in the New Globalization of US-Europe-China Multimodal Distribution: a Geopolitical Shock and Geo-economic Connection Perspective,” Kim Gyu Pan (KIEP) on “Green Deal and Japan-EU Green Cooperation: Implications for Korea,” Yoon Jung Hyun (KIET) on “EU-ASEAN Strategic Partnership and Implications of Pursuing FTA,” Jang Byung Il (Green Idea Lab) on “EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism and Implications for Korea,” and Professor Kang Yoo Duk (HUFS) on “EU’s Corporate Social Responsibility and Supply Chain Due Diligence Policies Implications for Korea.” Panel discussants included Kim Duk Sik (Maeil Business), Professors Chung Sae Won (Pukyong Univ.), Kim Bong Chul (HUFS), Lee Seung Geun (Keimyung Univ.), and JMCE Director Kim Si Hong (HUFS). They engaged in debate about Korea’s response and strategic plan in the context of new European market export competitors- China, Japan, ASEAN- and the EU’s policies on sustainable development and East Asia trade.
