The Language Education Center at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (Yong-In) Seeking Full-Time Assistant Professor

The Foreign Language Education Center (FLEC) provides students from all English abilities, the opportunity to participate in various English programs with the goal of fostering an environment where they can develop confidence, use English in everyday life, or gain some fluency where they can use English when they travel abroad. The FLEC also provides students with the opportunity to explore various majors and career paths by studying basic academic English in the fields of humanities, social sciences, sciences, technology, and engineering.

Professors will teach students from various majors (except English Major Students) and will focus primarily on practical English skills such as reading, writing, listening, and speaking.  The core classes have required textbooks and a pre-determined curriculum but professors have flexibility in their teaching approach and classroom methodologies. The main goal of the course is to encourage students to communicate with each other and with the professor through interactive and creative classroom activities using both the textbooks and other supplementary materials the professor chooses to utilize.

Aside from the core courses, professors may teach extra classes from other programs which focus on specific subjects such as essay writing, technical writing, writing scientific reports, business, conversation, and so on. Professors may also be given the opportunity to teach intensive programs during the Summer and Winter Vacations, but these are optional.
