On June 1, 2018, HUFS JMCE held the 12th Joint Academic Conference of European Studies in Korea at the International Conference Hall, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.

The Joint Conference was held on the subject of "Prospects for De-escalation and Negotiations on the Korean Peninsula: Lessons from Euroepan Experiences of Conflict Resolution and Regional Integration".

Professor Sihong KIM  attended the MOFA-HUFS panel as chairman.

It was held under the theme of "The Prospect of Reconciliation and Peace Process on the Korean Peninsula: European Experiences Revisited".

JMCE held individual panel under the theme of

"Forty Years of European Studies at HUFS: Looking back, looking forward",

based on the same title article written by professor Sihong KIM.

Through the active participation of professors from the department of European Studies in HUFS,

it was able to look back on the past achievements of the European Studies in HUFS

and to look for the direction of future development.
