On May 6th, HUFS JMCE held a colloquium on “The Legal Status and Nature of EU Treaties and Climate Change Policy”. The colloquium commenced with a presentation by guest speaker Professor Park Deok-Young (Yonsei University Law school). Professor Park first made introductory remarks about EU institutions, their brief history, and then proceeded to his presentation on the legal specificity of EU treaties, providing his professional view on current climate change policies of the EU such as the "WTO-compatible EU carbon border adjustment mechanism.” After Professor Park’s remarks, Professor Seo Bo-hak (Kyung Hee University Law School) and Professor Kim Bong-cheol (HUFS Division of International Studies) debated the implications of EU Criminal Law and EU Law on East Asia respectively, with Professor Cho Hee-moon (HUFS Law School) as a moderator.
