Dear prospective exchange students,

We are very delighted to announce that our university plans to recommend 7 qualified international exchange students to National Institute for International Education(NIIED) as GKS(Exchange) scholarship students, who will receive full scholarship from the Korean government for the Fall semester 2011(from Sep 2011 to Feb 2012)

If you are a student from our partner university, please drop in the international office at your home university and inquire with your exchange program coordinator as to whether you can apply for the exchange program to HUFS for the fall semester 2011

GKS Exchange Scholarship for 2011 Fall Semester

1. Eligibility   

-  Students should be officially nominated by our international partner universities in the regions listed below  

-  Students should participate in at least one-semester course (Fall 2011) through our exchange program.   

-  Students are required to provide the evidence(transcript) of their GPA of over 3.0 out of 4.5.   

-  Current exchange students are not eligible to apply for this program. 

-  Only Undergraduate students are eligible to apply for this scholarship program

Nationality Qualification

- ASEAN 10 Countries 

- Central Asian, Middle East and African Countries 

- East Europe & other developing countries except China

2. Nomination Procedures   

a. Exchange student should submit their exchange application form before the deadline(May 15, 2011)

   They do NOT need to fill in any other specific form to apply for this scholarship

※ please note that  the application extension until the end of May can be granted if your international office notify us of the nomination result via email before the deadline.  

b. HUFS will screen & evaluate all applications and annouce the final decision in the late of June  

c. HUFS will recommend students to NIIED on July 8, 2011 and receive the final confirmation from NIIED in the middle of July.    

3. Scholarship Benefits 

-  Airfare Reimbursement (Round-trip) 

-  Monthly Stipend of KRW 800,000 (For 6 months) 

-  Settlement Allowance of KRW 200,000 (one-off payment) 

-  Medical Insurance
