Dear Korean War Scholarship Winners,

 

Again, we congratulate all of you on your successful nomination for the 2011 scholarship program for descendants of UN Korean War Veterans. Please read the followings to get well-prepared to come to our university and ask for any assistance via email (steve@hufs.ac.kr) or telephone (82-2-2173-2065) if needed.

 

Important Dates & Things to do!!

 

1) Obtain a student Visa

   We will shortly send you the certificate of admission & letter of acceptance to your home or Korean embassy in your country(only for those who were recommended by a Korean embassy). Please visit the nearest Korean embassy or consular office to get a student visa!

   The invitation documents will reach you within a week (will be sent via DHL)

 

2) Plan to arrive in Korea between April 5 - 7

   Please plan to arrive here betweenApril 5 - 7if you are currently not in Korea and get detailed information on how to request pick-up service by clicking the menu "Student Life >> Arrival & Pick-up" on this website.

 

   If your travel arrangement has been confirmed, please inform us of your schedule via email ASAP so that we can prepare for your dorm check-in. Students from Ethiopia are required to contact the Korean embassy for the ticket information.

 

  When you arrive on campus, please visit the Global One-Stop Service Center located on the first floor of HUFS Faculty Building. (See our campus map on this website)

 

3) Orientation Session

   a. Date: April 8, 2011 (Fri.) / 10:00 am~

   b. Venue: Seminar Room #109, HUFS Main Bldg.

 

4) Korean Language Program

   a. Placement test: April 11, 2011 (Mon.)

   b. Regular Session starts on April 12, 2011 (Tue.)

  

Housing & Scholarship Information

 

1) Housing

   All students will be staying in a shard room(double) at our on-campus dormitory (Globeedorm)

   Our dorm address is as follows;

   Globeedorm, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies

   270, Imun-dong, Dongdaemun-gu, Seou, Republic of Korea, 130-791

  ※ If you have any special needs for a single type room or other option, please let us know. We will arrange your accommodation after your arrival.

 

2) Scholarships & Benefits

   a. Dorm fee

   b. Full Tuition Fees (Korean Language & Regular degree course)

   c. Free Cultural Activities

   d. Special financial aids funded by "Korean War Memorial Foundation" will be provided to students from Thailand, Turkey, Ethiophia, Colombia

 

Please note that some majors in our graduate schools and undergraduate college do not accept international students applications. Detailed informaton about admission procedures & qualifications will be available during the welcoming orientation.
