Announcement for International Students of GS TESOL

*All international students should read the announcement thoroughly to carry out the academic program without facing problems for graduation.

 

1. Language proficiency test score you must submit when you enroll

(or before the graduation)

 

- Who : international students (by citizenship)

- When : All international students must submit it when you enter or before the graduation

- What to submit: Either of the followings must be submitted to GS TESOL academic affairs

 

1. TOPIK Certificate of Level 3 or Higher(Students need to achieve TOPIK level 4 or higher before graduation)

2. English Qualifications: TOEFL(PBT/550 CBT/210 iBT/80 or above), IELTS (an overall grade of 5.5 or above), FLEX(550 or above), TEPS(550 or above).

※ Your scores or qualifications will only be valid for two years from the test date.

 

 

2. Language proficiency test you should pass for your graduation

 

- Who : All GS TESOL students (regardless of domestic and international students)

- When : The language proficiency test is a partial fulfillment for GS TESOL

Every student must pass this test before they graduate

(Students can apply from their 2nd semester)

- How : The language proficiency test which is held on every semester by the academic affairs

OR Submission of other language proficiency certification as substitution

 

1) The language proficiency test which is held once on every semester by the academic affairs

 

*How : apply for the test when it is application period (the academic affairs will announce beforehand) and take the test

*When : on April (Spring semester), on October (Fall semester)

*Subjects

① If English is NOT a native language : English

If English is your native language : Korean or other language except English (e.g.,

French, German, Russian, Spanish, Chinese,

Japanese.. etc

② Submitting other language proficiency certificate as a substitution : All international

students could apply

 

2) Submission of other language proficiency certification as substitution

*Who : All domestic and international students

*How : Without applying for the language proficiency test which is provided by academic

affairs, submit form and certificate

(Specific due date will be announced with the language proficiency test)

*What : Either of the followings must be submitted

TOEFL(iBT/95, PBT/600, CBT/250 or above), TOEIC/900, FLEX/700 or above

① TOPIK level 4 or higher ② Certificate of the level 4 course completion provided by Center for Korean Language and Culture under HUFS (10 week Spring/Summer/Fall/Winter semester intensive course, Center for Korean Language and Culture, 02-2173-2260, www.korean.ac.kr)
