This notice is to inform you of the revision of KGSP regulations regarding 'temporary departure' which will be executed from June 15, 2010. You are kindly asked to see how it has been revised and to abide by the revised regulation.

□ Revised regulation (Article 29)

?Change in the standard of acknowledgement of “the temporary departure for which scholarship can be granted”

- Before: Living allowance is to be given for the temporary departure which does not exceed 30 days at one time

- After: Living allowance is to be given for the temporary departure which does not exceed 30 days per semester (including vacation)

- Reason: In principle, living allowance is the expense which is used for the stay and living in Korea. However, we grant it to the scholar in case his/her temporary departure does not exceed 30 days at one time, considering such cases as the data collection or survey related to his/her study or visiting his/her family. But unfortunately some scholars whose home country is located in the neighborhood of Korea have been taking frequent temporary departures, which cause some troubles in their study.
