HUFS JMCE co-hosted the Joint Conference on European Union Studies in Korea, held on December 8. The topic of the conference was "Europe and Korea: Toward the Era of City, beyond the Era of Nation State" and JMCE held two sessions, "Election Results of Major EU States and the Future of European Integration" and "Gender Policies of the European Union", respectively at 2:45pm and 4:30pm.

Director KIM played the role of host for the session "Election Results of Major EU States and the Future of European Integration". Professor Ahn Byong Uk (Daegu University) presented on the Significance of the General Elections in Germany and Austria. Professor Lee Gyu Young (Sogang University) was the panel. Professor Kim Shin Gyu (Hankuk University of Foreign Studies) presented on the Elections in Central and Eastern Europe and the Future of European Integration, focusing on the case of 2017 General Elections in the Czech Republic. Kim Ji Young (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) participated as panel.

For the session "Gender Policies of the European Union" Director KIM invited three gender experts. Professor Park Chae Bok (Sookmyung Women's University) presented on the Political Representation of Women in the European Union with Professor Kim Kyung Mi (Sogang University) as panel. Moreover, Professor Kim Min Jung (University of Seoul) presented on the fertility policy of France and gender significance with Professor Park Sunhee (Seoul National University) as panel. Finally, Professor Jang Seonhwa (Yonsei University) presented on the work and life balance policy of Sweden and gender equality, with Professor Kim Wook (Paichai University) as panel. 

After the main sessions followed the main assembly and awards. HUFS GSIAS Professor Ohn Daewon of EU Department, GSIAS of HUFS made his speech as the 2018 president. The head of LT department at HUFS, Professor Kang Yoo-Duk received the best paper award.
