2020 International Youth Leader Exchange Support Program Participant Recruiting Announcement

 

 

 

As part of the '2020 International Youth Leader Exchange Support Project' hosted by the Ministry of Gender and Family Equality, the Korea Youth Workers Association (KYWA), Hankuk Univeristy of Foreign Studies (HUFS) aims to promote the growth of global citizenship and intercultural understanding by fostering interaction and exchanges between Korean and international students. The KYWA and HUFS have developed this program together, and we look forward to seeing both HUFS’ Korean and international students’ interest and participation.

 

 

1. Topic

Global Cultural Exchange in the Age of Ontact (On+Untact): On & Off K-Culture Activitation Plan - “Welcome to Ontact K-Culture: Is it your first time?”

 

 

2. Objectives

-Discussing the spread of K-Culture (music, movies, dramas, food, sports, etc.) by country (region) and ways to integrate with one’s own culture;

-Discussing measures for cultural exchange in situations where physical movement between countries is difficult due to the spread of infectious diseases around the world;

-Participate in group activities, submit a report, and give presentations until the end of the program.

-Visiting K-Culture related agencies (CJ EnM, K-Style Hub, etc) (the schedule may be changed or cancelled depending on the corona-19 situation)

 

 

3. Participant Criteria

a. Participants: Maximum of 60 students (30 Korean, 30 International)

b. Eligibility: Must be a HUFS student (regular or international)

c. Age:

International Students: 17-29 years old

Korean Students: 19-24 years old

d. Application Period: Tuesday, September 1 Thursday, September 10th, 2020

If there are many applicants, interviews will be also be conducted to select

participants.

e. Cost: 30,000 KRW for participating students.

Souvenirs and a t-shirt will be awarded to participants.

5. Participation Benefits

a Receive the Minister of Gender Equality and Family Award and the Chairman of the Korea Youth Workers Association will be awarded.

b. Receive souvenirs and t-shirt for all participants

c. An excellent case book is will be made for the team that is chosen as the best team, and posted on the Youth International Exchange Network website.
