The 8^th European Studies Symposium

 

On May 30^th and 31^st , the symposium “European Studies in Korea: Past, Present, and Future” was held in Minerva Complex at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. The symposium was co-organized by the Korean Society of Contemporary European Studies, HUFS – HRI EU Centre, PNU EU Centre and Youngnam University EU Centre. Symposium was held to celebrate 20^th anniversary of the Korean Society of Contemporary European Studies. 15 different sessions were held during these two days. During the opening session, professor Jongil La explained the reason for establishing the Korean Society of Contemporary European Studies that aimed to reflect Korean past history with Europe. He also mentioned a new study for immigration in Europe, which became an issue recently. More than 40 speakers presented their papers about topic related to EU during this two days event.
