Korea-EU Policy Workshop under the title: “Building the Korea-EU Partnership Through Enhancing and Strengthening Higher Education Cooperation” was jointly organized by HUFS – HRI EU Centre, HUFS EU Institute, GSIAS Center for International Cooperation Strategy and the EU Delegation to Korea on October 29. The event took place on 36^thfloor in Lotte Hotel, downtown Seoul and gathered approximately 70 participants: academic representatives, policy makers, scholars, journalists and students.

This event was organized as a part of broader project focusing on EU-Korea Educational cooperation and for that reason it was also sponsored by Ministry of Education, National Research Foundation of Korea, and European Commission (DG Education and Culture).

The Workshop started with Welcoming remark delivered by Prof. Kim Si Hong (the Director of HUFS-HRI EU Centre) while congratulatory remarks were delivered by Ms. Ana Beatriz Martins who is a Head of Political Section from EU Delegation to Korea). Keynote speech under the title: ““Europe 2020 and the EU’s New Education Cooperation Programmes: Implications for EU-Korea Cooperation” was delivered by Mr. Harald Hartung, Head of Unit, International Cooperation, Higher Education in the World, Erasmus + Unit, DG EAC, European Commission. Opening session was followed by two other sessions during which scholars and experts shared their opinion on current status of EU-Korea educational cooperation framework. This half a day event ended up as a great success.
