On Oct 1st, Professor Kim Si-hong, director of HUFS JMCE, attended the Italy-ROK Forum in Rome. The 2019 Italy-ROK Forum, sponsored by Italy's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Municipality of Rome, and hosted by the Korean Embassy in Italy and the Italian Institute for International Affairs, marked its sixth this year. The event was held under the theme of "Open up a New Era of Strategic Partnership" with about 50 participants, including Italian government officials, academics and business officials. The forum began with a congratulatory remark by Luca Bergamo, Vice Mayor of the city of Rome, followed by keynote speeches by Amb. Umberto Vattani, President of Venice International University, and Dr. Ra Jongyil, Chair professor of National Defense College in Korea. Professor Kim Si-hong attended a panel of the first session 'Korea-Italy Strategic Partnership' which was held in the morning. In the second and third sessions that followed, discussions on deepening Korea-Italy cultural cooperation and promoting economic ties were held.
