On Dec 23, HUFS JMCE invited faculty from the Renmin University of China to hold a roundtable event. Prior to the roundtable, Director Kim Si-hong and the faculty of the Renmin University held a tea meating with Vice President of HUFS, Yoon Suk-man and Oh Jong-jin, head of the International Affairs Office, Lee Jae-won, head of the External Development, and Prof. Lim Dae-geun, who talked about enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two universities.

At the round table, under the theme of "Connecting Europe and Asia: Security, Economy and Mobility," the faculty members of Renmin Univ. (Prof. Yang Huilin, Prof. Yan Jin, Prof. Luo Tainhong and Prof. Guan Gongwen) freely shared their opinions on various topics, like China's position and direction of political and security toward the EU, deepening trade cooperation between Korea and China, exchanges and cooperation between universities of Korea and China, etc., with Prof. Kim Bong Chul and Prof. Kang You Duk of HUFS. Through the dialogue, the need for continued efforts for cooperation between South Korea, China and Japan and within the multilateral system was emphasized. As part of this, HUFS JMCE and the Center for European Studies of the Renmin University also pledged continued cooperation, including exchanges and joint research between the two Centres.
