1. 안녕하세요, 간단하게 자기소개 부탁드립니다. Please introduce yourself!

안녕하세요 국제학전공 18학번 김지윤입니다. 현재 국제학생회에서 회장을 맡고 있습니다.

Hello I’m Jeeyun Kim majoring in Division of International Studies. I’m also president of ISO this semester.

2. ISO 내에서 어떤 역할을 맡고 계신가요? What is your role in the ISO?

저는 우선 국제입학관리팀과 국제학생회 간에 의견을 조율하면서 행사를 기획하고 주최하는 일들을 해나가고 있습니다. 이번 학기의 경우에는 특히 코로나로 인해 상황이 변함에 따라 전체적인 조율에 들어가고 있습니다. 또한 정기회의 주최 및 스태프 복지에도 힘쓰고 있습니다.

ISO is working with the International Admission Management team to plan & host events. My part as a president is to manage all the activities handled by ISO . This year due to covid-19, we had to make many adjustments to our activities as ISO. Other than that we work on organizing staff meetings as well as the welfare for our staffs.

3. 국제학생회에서 활동하게 된 계기가 어떻게 되나요? Why did you decide to take part in the ISO?

2018년도 1학기 버디프로그램 참가를 계기로 여러가지 좋은 추억들이 있어 19년도에 스태프 면접을 봐서 시작하게 되었습니다. PR팀으로 활동을 하였고 올해 초에 체코에서 조기 귀국하면서 지난 학기 임원진들에 제안을 받아 회장단에 출마하여 20-2 가을학기에 회장을 맡게 되었습니다.

While participating in the buddy program during the 18-1 semester, I had a lot of good memories, so I wanted to become an ISO staff, and did so after interviewing for it in 2019. I returned Korea from the Czech Republic early this year, and after receiving a proposal from the executives of the previous semester, I ran for the presidency and became president in the fall semester 20-2.

4. 3학기째 국제학생회로 활동 중인 것으로 알고 있는데 가장 기억에 남는 장면이 있을까요? Can you tell us your most memorable stories during your time in ISO?

두 장면이 기억에 남습니다ㅎㅎ.

첫 번째로 19년도 2학기 학생회 MT를 갔을 때가 기억에 남습니다. 제가 PR팀으로 활동할 때 업무 중의 하나가 MT를 기획하는 것이었는데 가족 같은 분위기 내에서 함께 PR팀이 준비한 게임을 즐겁게 하던 장면이 기억에 남네요.

두 번째로 올해 8월 마지막 주에 진행되었던 체크인 행사가 기억에 남습니다. 당시 코로나 확진자 수가 증폭하던 시기여서 모두들 조심스럽고 더위로 인해 힘들었지만 국제입학관리팀과 국제학생회 스테프분들의 도움으로 모든 일정들을 무사히 마칠 수 있었습니다.

I have two stories to tell, haha.

First, I remember going to the ISO MT* in 2019-2 semester. When I was working as a member of the PR team, one of my tasks was planning our MT, I remember I enjoyed the games we prepared with the PR team together in a family-like atmosphere.

Second, the check-in event that took place in the last week of August this year is memorable. At that time, the number of Covid-19 cases was increasing, so everyone was careful and it was also difficult due to the heat, but with the help of the International Admissions Management Team and the staff of the ISO, all the schedules were able to be completed safely.

5. 국제학생회는 코로나에 어떻게 대처하고 있나요? How is ISO dealing with covid-19?

상황이 조금 특수하다 보니 이번 학기에는 모든 행사들을 오프라인과 온라인, 투 트랙으로 준비를 하였습니다.

그리하여 현재 모든 행사들을 비대면으로 진행 중에 있으며, 프로그램 진행에 있어서 필수인원들은 사회적 거리두기 방침을 준수하며 프로그램을 같이 만들어 나가고 있습니다.

예를 들면 GAT나 Buddy Program의 경우 OT를 유튜브 라이브로 진행하여 참가자분들께 프로그램 참가와 페어를 만난다는 설렘의 느낌을 간접적으로라도 느낄 수 있게 하였고, 조장들의 얼굴도 익히는 시간을 가졌습니다. 또한 앞으로 예정된 이벤트들도 온라인으로 진행될 예정입니다.

그러나 아무래도 Buddy, GAT, ATTI 모든 프로그램들의 취지가 서로 만나서 소통하고 즐기는 것이기 때문에 매번 아쉽다는 생각이 듭니다. 하루 빨리 상황이 완화되어 모두를 만날 수 있기를 기대하고 있습니다.

As the situation is a bit special, we have prepared all events offline as well as online this semester.

Therefore, all events are currently being conducted non-face-to-face, and the essential staff in the program are complying with the social-distancing-policy.

The OT for the GAT & Buddy Program was conducted live on YouTube so that participants could feel the excitement of participating in the program and meeting their pair indirectly. Also for now any upcoming events will be held online.

However, I think it is a shame because the purpose of all of our programs like Buddy, GAT, and ATTI events is to meet, communicate, and have a good time. We look forward to seeing everyone face-to-face as soon as the situation eases.

6. 만약 이번학기 내내 비대면으로 진행된다면?

What is your plan if non-face-to-face continues throughout this semester?

한 치 앞의 상황도 알 수 없는 지금이지만, 만약 그렇다면 국제학생회에서는 참가자분들에게 최상의 경험과 최대의 만족도를 이끌어 내기 위해 노력하고 있습니다. 온라인으로 충분히 재밌고 유쾌한 프로그램들을 준비해 놓았으니 기대하셔도 좋을 것 같습니다.

If so, ISO will strive to bring out the best experience and maximum satisfaction to the participants. We have prepared enough fun and entertaining programs online, so you can look forward to it.

7. 마지막으로 하시고 싶은 말이 있다면? What is the last thing you want to say?

우선 코로나라는 큰 제약에도 불구하고 프로그램들을 신청해주신 많은 참가자분들께 감사 인사를 드리고 싶습니다.

또한 이런 시기에 열심히 같이 프로그램을 준비한 우리 국제학생회 스태프분들에게 감사 인사를 드리고 싶습니다.

한국외대에 온 모든 외국인 교환, 방문학생들과 또 한국학생들을 돕고 싶다는 따뜻한 마음으로 똘똘 뭉친 국제학생회이니 만큼,

참가자분들에게 저희의 진심이 충분히 전달되었으면 좋겠고, 다가오는 행사들도 많은 관심 부탁드리겠습니다. 감사합니다.
