The finalists’ number increases from 6 to 8, and general diplomacy increases from 2 to 6 compared to the previous yearPlans to set up Public Sector Human Resources Development Institute for effective supportAmong the 51 finalists of the 2020 National Exam for Foreign Service Officer Candidates, HUFS produced 8 finalists—6 candidates for general diplomacy, 2 for regional diplomacy (Latin America, Russia & CIS)—as reported by the Ministry of Personnel Management on Nov. 29.For general diplomacy, a total of 1,166 examinees applied and 47 became finalists, 6 of whom were from HUFS. For regional diplomacy, a total of 68 applied and 4 became finalists, 2 of whom were from HUFS.Notably, the 2020 exam marks the first time a finalist was produced by the Division of Language & Diplomacy, which was created to nurture talents in diplomacy, elevating its status as an esteemed diplomat academy.HUFS Career Development Center Director Lee Ki-hyun said that HUFS is offering study rooms, various special lectures, supervising professors, practice tests and interviews for support, and starting next year will create a Public Sector Human Resources Development Institute for more effective and systemic support.
