(1) Introduction
The University Library opened in 1954, and was relocated in today's Main Building on the Seoul campus.
An specially designed library was built in 1978 while another library was established on the Yongin campus in 1981.
Since 1995, it strove to develop the Library Automation System called HUFSLAS and it has now allowed the Library to go beyond the basic service of loaning books to provide fully integrated services. The Library provides and maintains computing, networking and audio-visual facilities that take into account the special needs of the faculty and students. The On-line Public Access Catalog(OPAC) affords easy and prompt access to its collection of books, periodicals, theses, articles and non-book materials. A newly built multi-media room makes it possible to provide and maintain Web-based gateways to a full range of electronic resources available at home or abroad, and to provide training and user instruction in key skills to users in the efficient use of printed and electronic resources.
