Career Opportunities for HUFS Graduates
Considering the relatively small size of the HUFS undergraduate body, the career record of its graduates has been most impressive. This is no doubt due to the fact that compared with those from other major universities in Seoul, HUFS graduates generally possess a better sense of Korea's position in the international community, as they always keep in view the entire global village even when they work in Korea.
Such globalized sensibility of HUFS graduates has put them in constant demand both in Korea and overseas. Very often HUFS graduates settle down in foreign countries to whose culture and language they had been introduced at the University.
In keeping with the spirit of the University's internationalism, HUFS takes great pride in the substantial number of diplomats it has produced throughout its more than fifty-five years of history. Some of its graduates have now become mature enough to be appointed as ambassadors to the countries where the languages they had learned at HUFS are spoken. HUFS is also delighted to count its graduates among the National Assembly representitives as well as government ministers.
Another prominent group of alumni can be found among the CEOs of different commercial concerns, where, again, the globalized qualifications of our graduates become a strong asset. To this day international business remains the most popular career option for many undergraduates.
Many HUFS graduates have chosen to become specialists in foreign language, literature and culture. During the past decade or so, HUFS-trained interpreters have received much acclaim. The University has also maintained a reputation as a respected research university that has bred many scholars, researchers, and professors who are active in various fields both in Korea and overseas.
