Readings in Elementary Turkish (1), (2)
Begins with the Turkish alphabet and studies basic Turkish by reading and writing of easy and simple sentences.

Elementary Turkish Grammar (1), (2)
Studies the basic Turkish grammar, one of the Ural Altai languages with the aim of enhancing reading comprehension skills.

Elementary Turkish Language Lab (1), (2)
Develops accurate Turkish pronunciation using devices in the language lab to rapidly develop the ability to understand and use simple Turkish sentences.

Elementary Turkish Conversation (1), (2)
Improves basic and practical conversation skills through conversations with native Turkish teachers based on listening, reading, writing and speaking skills acquired by using devices in the language lab.

Introduction to Turkish Studies
Introduces basic research on Turkey to promote a comprehensive and accurate understanding of Turkey, focusing on theoretical foundation and background to help students set the direction for their research in the fields of politics, economy, society and culture.

Introduction to the History of Turkish Culture
Examines the historical changes and characteristics of the Turkish people from ancient times to the end of the Ottoman Empire from a cultural perspective.

Enhances reading comprehension skills at an intermediate level to prepare students to read more sophisticated texts.

Intermediate Turkish Grammar (1), (2)
Teaches intermediate-level Turkish grammar comprehensively to strengthen reading comprehension skills.

Intermediate Turkish Language Lab (1), (2)
Develops accurate pronunciation by using devices in the language lab and rapidly develops the ability to listen, read, speak and write intermediate-level Turkish.

Intermediate Turkish Conversation (1), (2)
Develops practical intermediate-level Turkish conversation skills through conversations with native Turkish teachers based on listening, speaking, reading and writing skills acquired through practice in the language lab.

Reading in Elementary Azeri (1), (2)
The basics of the Azeri language are taught including pronunciation and syntax. This course starts with the alphabet and teaches elementary reading and comprehension with easy and simple sentences.

Elementary Turkish Composition (1), (2)
Teaches basic sentence patterns and usages of Turkish to develop basic writing ability.

Advanced Turkish Conversation (1), (2)
Develops the ability to give presentations and discuss selected topics from politics, society, economy and culture.

Current Turkish
Develops the skills required to understand and use terms related to current issues through readings of magazines, periodicals and newspapers to understand the current situation in Turkey and the surrounding area.

Intermediate Turkish Composition (1), (2)
Enhances basic reading and writing skills by building upon grammar and knowledge acquired in Elementary Turkish Composition. By using practical texts as education materials, the course aims to increase students’ vocabulary and the ability to express themselves.

Elementary Azeri Conversation (1), (2)
To raise elementary Azeri conversation skills, vocabulary and listening skills are taught.

Turkish Stylistics (1), (2)
This course is an upper level reading course and reads excerpts from books in the liberal arts and special topics from a variety of fields.

History of Turkish Politics
Aims to examine the political development in Turkey in historical perspective from the era of the Ottoman Empire to contemporary times.

FLEX Turkish (1), (2)
The focus is on the reading, listening, grammar and other types of questions used in the Turkish proficiency test.

Middle Eastern Politics
Compares and reviews political, social and cultural features of countries that influence the politics in the Middle East. The course also examines the international community’s interests in the region and instances of its interventions as well as the reaction of the countries in the region in order to boost understanding of the region.

History of Turkey
Introduces the characteristics and development process of Turkish politics, economy, society and culture from ancient to contemporary times.

High Advanced Turkish Conversation (1), (2)
Enhances the ability to communicate in Turkish, helping students to acquire knowledge about the language itself at the same time. The course also surveys the Turkish culture through various conversation texts in books. It also aims to develop the students' ability to communicate and express their opinions in a variety of circumstances.

Commercial Turkish
Focuses on commercial documents used in business transactions, in particular, the vocabulary and expressions used in business meetings to boost students' understanding of trade.

Economics of the Middle East (1)
To impart a basic understanding of the Middle Eastern economy, this course will touch upon a variety of subjects, including basics of the Middle Eastern economy; historical background and development; economic conditions and characteristics; structural aspects and industrial structure; financial markets and interest-free banking in the Middle East; economic developments; and Islam economic studies.

History of Middle Eastern Diplomacy
Conducts research on changes after the European countries advanced into the Middle East in the early 19th century, especially the diplomatic relations among the Middle Eastern countries.

Economics of the Middle East (2)
Following “Economics of the Middle East 1,” this course will provide students the opportunity to gain an understanding of the Middle Eastern economy from a macroeconomic point of view by focusing on the following subjects Middle Eastern oil industry and OPEC, industrialization, economic development of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries, economic development and agricultural issues of the Middle East, economic blocs and cooperation, relationship between the economy of the Middle East and that of Korea.

Seminar on Middle Eastern Regional Studies
Selects major issues related to the Middle East and suggests various methods to approach the current issues so that students can cultivate the ability to analyze, focusing on case studies. The course consists of students' presentations and discussions.

Understanding of Turkish Literature
Conducts research on the history of Turkish literature with a focus on the comprehensive understanding of the overall Turkish literature. The course cultivates the ability to select works of major writers of the times and understand and analyze their historical background and development process. By conducting systematic research on Turkish literature, the course aims to develop the ability to compare the attitudes, culture, ideologies and development of Korean literature with those of Turkish literature.

Turkish Culture
Culture refers to everything that makes up a society, that is, politics, economy, art and education and also the lifestyle of its people. The course aims to boost students' understanding of the nation's cultural origins, the mindset and the behavior of its people and communities, its cultural diversity and universality, taking a broad view of culture. The course redresses images of the Orient which have been distorted by Western Orientalist ideologies from the 19th century.
