Leave of Absence

How to Apply

1. Application Period

   1. For Spring Semester: Feb. 1st ~ Mar. 15th
   2. For Fall Semester: Aug. 1st ~ Sep. 15th

2. Required Documents

   1. Application Form    
   2. A copy of passport

   3. A copy of the front and back side of Alien Registration Card

      when you submit the documents via e-mail, please write your title in below form:

      ‘Student ID, Name, ’Apply for Leave of Absence’

3. Notification

   1. Starting with the day you submit the application form, your visa will be canceled after 14 days. Please leave Korea within 2 weeks after submitting your application form.
   2. If you submit an application for leave of absence, all the courses you have applied for will disappear and will not be restored to the original state.
   3. If you would like to extend your leave of absence after exceeding the date written in your application form, you submit a new application for leave of absence. (You can take 6 semesters off at maximum.)
   4. If you do not fill out an application for a leave of absence after exceeding the date, you will be deemed to give up your studies and will be expelled.
   5. The academic status on the student portal will be processed at once every semester from the last day of application period.
        ex) You applied for leave of absence on Sep. 5th (which is before Sep. 15th) and recieve a message from OIAM that your application was accepted. However, on the student portal, it will still say that “you are in school”.
   6. If you would like to canel the application for leave of absence, you must submit the application for cancellation of leave of absence. (Click here to download ‘The Application for Canellation of Leave of School’)
