The method of applying for leave of absence/return to school has changed as below. International students can apply online for leave of absence or return to school through the Web Information System (refer to Attachment 1).

1.How to Apply

※ The application will be approved at once at the end of the application period.

2. Certificate of Admission : Schedule & Issuance

3. Notice : Leave of Absence

  1) If you apply for a leave of absence, the period is automatically set to be a year.

    (However, you are able to return to school after a semester.)

  2) After the expiration of the leave of absence, you can extend the leave again. You can take up to 3 years of a leave of absence during the whole school year.

    (However, those who transferred as a junior since the 2012 Fall semester can take up to 2 years of a leave of absence.)

    ※ If you don’t return to school after the expiration of the leave of absence, you will be “expelled due to the excess of the leave of absence.“

  3) If you apply for a leave of absence, the history of your course registration of the current semester will be deleted. (It cannot be restored)

  4) After applying for a leave of absence, you should leave Korea within 2 weeks. (D-2 visa will be expired right after the application of a leave of absence.)

  5) Cancellation during the Application Period : Cancel in the Web Information System

  6) Cancellation after the Period : Submit the Application Form for Cancellation (refer to the Attachment 3) to issc@hufs.ac.kr

4. Notice: Return to School

※ The class delivery method of the 2022 Spring semester will be decided later.

5. Notice about Returning to School

  1) If you would like to return to school after a leave of absence, you should apply for returning to school in the system. (You are able to return to school after a semester of a leave of absence.)

  2) You should apply for returning to school in the system even if you return right after the expiration of the leave of absence. (Application of returning to school is mandatory if you want to return.)

  3) If you return to school, you should pay for the tuition (if you did not pay for it in the previous semester) and do course registration during the designated periods.

  4) Cancellation during the Application Period : Cancel in the Web Information System

  5) Cancellation after the Period : Submit the Application Form for Cancellation (refer to the Attachment 3) to issc@hufs.ac.kr
