The Department of Japanese (8 students) for master’s students is established. In a master’s program, the Department of Eastern European Area Studies, the Department of Political Science and International Relations, and the Department of Trade increase the number of their students from 6 to 8, respectively.

In a master’s program, the Department of Japanese increases its students from 8 to 20 and the Department of Eastern European Area Studies and the Department of Trade increase the number of its students from 8 to 10 respectively. The Department of Economics (6 students) is established.

The HUFS Graduate School conferred an honorary doctorate degree to Dr. Heung-Bae Kim, the founder of the HUFS University and the president of Dongwon Educational Foundation, and Ms. Bang-Ja Lee, the founder of the Jahye School.

The HUFS Graduate School decides to increase 80 master’s students. The Department of Public Relations is established for master’s students.

In a master’s program, the number of students is increased by 50 master’s students. The Department of Portuguese, the Department of Thai, the Department of Malay-Indonesia, the Department of Management, the Department of Philosophy, the Department of Mathematics, the Department of Physics, and the Department of Chemistry are established. In a doctoral program, the Department of Russian and the Department of Trade are established.

In a master’s program, the number of students is increased by 36 master’s students. The Department of Linguistics, the Department of History, and the Department of Management Information Systems are established. The Department of Public Relations is renamed as the Department of Communication and Information.
In a doctoral program, the number of students is increased by 36 students and the Department of Korean Language and Literature, the Department of Philosophy, the Department of Physics, and the Department of Chemistry are established.

Dr. Deok Kim is appointed as the dean of the HUFS Graduate School.

In a doctoral program, the number of students is increased by 27 students and the Department of Linguistics, the Department of Communication and Information, and the Department of Management Information Systems are established.
