- 한국외국어대학교 정치외교학과는 현실정치나 사회현상에 대한 표층적인 연구에 그치지 않고 삶의 규범적인 측면에 대한 심층적인 이해를 하는 것을 기본 교육목표로 하고 있습니다. 그 목표 하에 『국내 정치』, 『비교 정치』, 『정치학 연구 방법론』, 『정치 사상』,『국제 정치』등 정치학 분야에 대한 폭넓은 연구를 통해 구체적이면서도 유기적인 교육을 하고 있습니다.
본 학과는 사회 전반의 삶의 가치와 권리가 보장될 수 있는 이상적인 정치 제도와 함께 변화무쌍한 국제 환경의 의제들에 대하여 이론적으로 탐구, 고찰할 뿐 아니라 실질적인 해결방안을 추구하는 것을 교육목표로 하고 있습니다.
본 학과는 교수진의 뛰어난 연구업적과 함께 사회 전반의 사회과학분야 주요 연구 인프라와 체계적인 협력을 통해 인적, 제도적 배경을 구축하고 있습니다. 또한 외국인 학생 입학과 국제 학생 교류 제도 등을 통해 우수한 교육성과를 보여주고 있습니다. 본 학과는 이런 각고의 노력과 교육, 연구를 통해 세계적인 경쟁력을 갖추고 있는 교육기관으로 지속적인 성장을 하도록 노력하고 있습니다. 석·박사 프로그램에서는 정치사상 및 이론, 정치학 방법론, 비교정치론, 한국정치론, 국제정치론 등 5개 전공분야에 걸쳐 강도 높은 교육과 연구를 수행함으로써 고도의 과학적 분석능력과 바른 가치관을 지닌 정치학자와 관련 실무분야의 전문인력을 양성함에 목표를 두고 있습니다.
- Department of Political Science and Diplomacy: Overview
- The Department of Political Science and Diplomacy at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies is known for the outstanding quality of teaching and research in four major subfields of political science: Korean Politics, International Relations, Comparative Politics and Political Philosophy. Offering expertise and training in the traditional fields of political science, our faculty value and encourage works that transcend the boundaries of two or more fields.
We provide students with an in-depth understanding of political institutions, social movements, security and economic problems in the global context and ideological systems, relying on diverse theoretical approaches and methodological rigor. We also offer competitive international programs where students have opportunities to communicate with foreign students and participate in exchange programs in various universities abroad. Our department has strong social and global networks based on our faculty and alumni who excel in academia, government, industries, politics, mass communication, law, etc.
The principal goal of our Master’s and doctoral programs is the training of scholars and professionals in the field of political science. We provide a rigorous program that emphasizes theoretical sophistication and scientific methods in social sciences with the focus placed on Korean Politics, Comparative Politics, International Relations, Political Philosophy and Political Methodology.
