The College of English originated from the Department of English Linguistics, which shares the history of HUFS and is today positioned as a mecca for English education. Keeping pace with current trends that stress the importance of English, the College of English was reorganized in 2005 to increase the specialization of each area of English language, British and American literature, and interpretation and translation. The academic base is further deepened and solidified to cultivate global talents with expertise in each field.
College of Chinese
The first school of its kind to be established among Korean universities. The college of chinese provides specialized education that includes not only langauge studies but also other aspects of China to produce graduates equipped with globally oriented theoretical and practical capabilities. College of Japanese
To fulfill its vision of building a center for forstering world-class specialists in Japan, the college's faculty are continuously striving to improve its academic quailty in order to strengthen its position as a globally competitive institution recognized for advanced research and innovative departments that respond to the demands of national development and society. The college defines its educational goal as nurturing future-oriented Japan specialists by combining literature and area studies centered on the Japanese langauge.
College of Occidental Languages
The College of Occidental Languages, a pillar in the founding of HUFS, consists of eight foreign languages of western and northern Europe. Every department in the College of Occidental Languages is highly acclaimed in its relevant field and contributes to the advancement of humanities studies and society.
College of Oriental Languages
The College of Oriental Languages is the Korea’s best educational institution in Oriental languages and area studies. It includes the Department of Malay-Indonesia, the only program available in this specialty in Korea; the Department of Arabic; and the Department of Mongolic, among others. Regardless of borders, races, cultures and major fields, the College of Oriental Languages continues learning and strives to renew itself to cultivate global leaders who will lead the globalization of the Asia-Pacific region.
College of Global Business Administration
The College of Global Business Administraion provides its students with the education, tools, and experience necessary to launch and accelerate successful business careers. The College of Global BA originated from the Department of Business and was reorganized in 2009 to provide better quality undergraduate education that prepares our graduates to be successful professionals or to advance in their chosen careers.

College of Law
In addition to cultivating legal professionals, the study of law is significant as a social framework a foundation to respond to social changes and achieve continued development. It is a field of study that is crucial to the development of human society. The College of Law at HUFS has a systematic curriculum, from basic areas of law to the individual and special areas of law, including labor law, company law and law of international organizations.
College of Education
The College of Education, which consists of the 40-year-old Department of English Education, Department of French Education, Department of German Education and Department of Korean Education, is focused on cultivating teaching professionals with the knowledge, experience, personality and disposition required of middle and high school teachers. Furthermore, it also exerts efforts to produce regional experts demanded in the globalization era.
Division of International Studies
The Division of International Studies was created to cultivate international experts who can demonstrate outstanding capabilities in the globalization era. The division’s specialized curriculum requires students to acquire excellent language proficiency and the professional knowledge demanded by the international community to build distinctive future competitiveness. The Division of International Studies consists of an International Cooperation Major and an International Trade and Economy Major and provides various supports to students to deepen their fields of specialization based on their own interests and aptitudes. All classes are conducted in English to train students to be fluent at a sophisticated level.
Korean Studies
We are also providing a variety of opportunities to all international students who want to deepen their understand ing of Korean society and the sources of its current trends. It includes Introduction to Korean Economy, Culture, Literature and Korean language for foreign students.
