| Professor Hyeyoung Cho earned her Ph.D. in English Education from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies after completing an M.A. in Conference Interpreting at Macquarie University (Sydney, Australia). She has taught English and TESOL for five years at college level. Her research interests include corpus linguistics, cognitive linguistics, and TESOL. As a teacher, she values meaningful and purposful interaction among students in the learning process. Learning English can be a challenge, but it does not have to be boring or overwhelmingly difficult. Through the class, students will have a lot of fun exploring authentic language materials and engaging in various classroom activities. | ||

| Hello. My name is Scott Haven. I approach teaching from a creative standpoint. Good grades are very important, but I want students to see themselves as the remarkable human beings they are. I want them to know their self-worth and realize their potential is limitless. My philosophy rests on the idea that I must set high standards for students and for myself to help foster the intellectual development for students. I set the individual needs of students at the pinnacle of my lesson design and presentation of instruction. My goal has always been to provide meaningful, sustainable learning. Each semester causes me to reflect upon, and modify my teaching strategies to incorporate updated instructional practices to help my students obtain a great level of understanding and retention. There is no better way to benefit society than to teach, and I cannot wait for the opportunity to ensure success in the next generation of young students. | ||

| Professor Hull earned a Master’s Degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology in Education with a specialization in TESOL from Temple University, Philadelphia. He has taught in the Communicative English Department at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies since 2010, where he specializes in Content-based Learning. Students in his classes improve their English proficiency through subjects like history, science, current affairs, and the media rather than in a traditional grammar-based curriculum. He believes that studying doesn’t have to be boring to be academic and his classes are rigorous, yet relaxed and fun. | ||

| I lived most of my life in Canada before moving to Seoul, Korea. I have a BA in Applied Linguistics from the University of Victoria, and an MA in English Education from Ewha Womans University. I began my teaching career at a private elementary school in Canada. After I moved to Korea, I continued to teach English at different schools until I joined the Committee on Practical English at HUFS in 2010. With more than 10 years’ experience, I am adept in classroom instruction, planning and testing. In addition to my experience and personal qualities, I have a solid educational foundation and a passion for teaching English. My goal is to provide my students with the necessary tools and confidence to communicate in English in academic and casual settings. | ||
