Members of HUFS’s Global Trading Experts Incubating Program (GTEP, Director Baek Jae-Seung) were honored with the Grand Prize at the 2021 KITA University Trade Camp held from August 23-26, 2021.
This year’s Trade Camp was joined by eight students from HUFS GTEP. More specifically, HUFS GTEP Team 2 (Kim Jae-Hwan, Shin Yoo-Jin, and Tak Ga-Hyun) and Team 5 (Kim Min-Gyu, Kim Bo-Gyum, Park Su-Bin, Park Chan-Ju, and Han He-Ju) won the Grand Prize, receiving favorable reviews for their creative marketing strategies and accurate trade document preparation.
At the Trade Camp, HUFS GTEP Team 2 proposed exporting sugar-free jam to Malaysia, citing the nation’s increasing demand for healthy food and high obesity rates. In the meantime, HUFS GTEP Team 5 proposed exporting children’s toys to the U.S. because of the growing popularity of Korean animation TAYO and the rising demand for toys there due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Marking its 13th anniversary this year, the KITA University Trade Camp offers the nation’s only international trade and commerce training program specialized for college students, where they gain first-hand experience in practical trade skills, document preparation, and import and export processing.
