On June 23, 2023 (Friday), HUFS University Job Plus Center (Director Kim Min-Jung) and the Student Union jointly organized the 2023 HUFS Special Lecture at the FILA Acushnet Hall of the Smart Library on the Seoul Campus. The event featured special guest Sharon Choi, renowned as the interpreter for the director of film Parasite, Bong Joon-ho.

 

The 2023 HUFS Special Lecture is a prestigious lecture series hosted by HUFS in collaboration with the Student Union. The series focuses on cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence (AI) and big data, building upon HUFS’s strengths in diplomacy and international trade. Reflecting the business philosophy of President Kim Deok-Sool (Japanese, entry class of ’81) of UNISTORY Asset Management, who emphasizes excelling in one’s chosen field to become a global leader, the lecture series invited Sharon Choi. Known for her outstanding abilities in interpretation, translation, and film directing, she shared her insights with students and local youth during the event.

 

Throughout the lecture, she candidly shared personal anecdotes from her journey in interpretation and translation work. She interwove her lecture’s main theme with answers to questions from the audience. Furthermore, she generously gave advice to students about their career paths, emphasizing the importance of following their instincts and pursuing their aspirations.
