2021년 HUFS 강의상 수상을 축하드립니다! 소감 한 마디 부탁드립니다.

Frankly speaking, I think I do not deserve this award. I just do my humble effort and I am just one more employee in our institution. However, I am infinitely grateful for this distinction and with the permission of the Institute for Educational Innovation I would like to share it with all the students and professors of the Spanish Translation and Interpretation Department of Campus Global and dedicate it to my parents (Alfonso Macías Valadez de la Torre and Ma Guadalupe Elias Mayorga).

학기 시작 전 강의 준비는 어떻게 하시는지요?

Without a doubt, the saddest day of the year for me is the first day of vacation in our university. I live on campus and that day I am really sad because I cannot see the students around. Nevertheless, from that day on, I start preparing very hard for the next semester thinking about the joy that I will have when I see the students again on the first day of school.

강의를 진행하실 때 특별히 중점을 두거나, 신경을 쓰는 부분이 있다면 어떤 것인지 말씀해 주시기 바랍니다.

-That knowing a little more than them does not give me the right to look down on them, but the duty to teach them.

-That their parents make huge efforts to pay for their college.

-That I am not their professor, but their friend.

-That thanks to the salary their parents pay me, I can have a house and food every day.

-That each of them is special, unique and exceptional in something and that it would be an insult to compare them with others and to make them compete among them.

-That my real job is to encourage them to achieve the best version of themselves.

-That only two good things can grow within them: love and knowledge.

교수님의 강의의 어떤 부분이 학생들에게 좋은 평가를 받았다고 생각하시나요?

Frankly speaking, I do not know. It has never been my intention to impress anyone.

인생을 먼저 살아본 선배로써, 우리 대학 학생들에게 하고 싶은 말이 있다면 무엇입니까?

“Nunca debo dejar de soñar y siempre debo mantener la esperanza”.
